China, ASEAN trade rise 4.8 percent in H1


(MENAFN) According to the Chinese Ministry of Commerce (MOC), trade between the country and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) rose 4.8 percent to USD220.69 billion in the first half of the current year,QNA report.


Singapore, one of ASEAN members, has continued to lead the investing in China with USD7.2 billion last year, while in 2013, Malaysia became the first among ASEAN members to handle more than USD100 in trade with China.


Last year, the trade between China and ASEAN rose to 10.9 percent, in which it reached USD444 billion, exceeding the 7.6 percent in China's total foreign trade.


Spokesman of the MOC said that "the investment recorded USD120 billion at the end of June 2014, with a growth of USD80 billion from ASEAN and USD40 billion from China."
