Bahrain to invest USD48m in revamping buildings


(MENAFN) Bahrain's cabinet said it has approved investing USD48 million in revamping historic buildings and renovating houses in the Muharraq area, according to Arabian Business.

15 out of the 17 historic buildings on a UNESCO World Heritage List will be revamped and rehabilitated.

The project also includes the restoration and rehabilitation of 12 other historical buildings, the establishment of 18 public open spaces, four car parks for the visitors and residents of the area, renovation of the facades of 750 houses, as well as the establishment of a visitor information centre and a pedestrian bridge.
