China's GDP to grow 7.5 percent: HSBC

(MENAFN) HSBC banking giant has raised its projection for the China's gross domestic product (GDP) growth to 7.5 percent from an earlier 7.4 percent, Xinhua reported.

In the second quarter, the Chinese economy grew 2 percent over the same quarter of 2013, while in the first quarter of 2014, the economy has expanded 7.4 percent over a year ago.

GDP growth in the second quarter "surprised on the upside relative to our forecast", attributed to stronger-than-expected government support measures, HSBC Chief China Economist said.
