Saudi- Mobile subscriptions jump 165 to 50m by Q1


(MENAFN- Arab News) The number of subscriptions in the mobile telecommunications services across Saudi Arabia reached about 50 million by the end of the first quarter of 2014 a penetration rate of 165 percent of the population.

This is revealed in the quarterly electronic newsletter issued by the Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) SPA said.

In its 19th edition of the newsletter the publication stated the number of Internet users increased by the end of the first quarter of 2014 to reach about 18.1 million users with a penetration rate of more than 59 percent. Fixed telephone lines operating by the end of the first quarter of 2014 reached about 4.8 million lines.
