(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) A Pakistani woman on her way from Islamabad to Riyadh died after she fell ill on her flight, forcing the pilot to make an emergency landing at Muscat International Airport on Monday.
The Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight (PK753) landed in Muscat at 8.25am, an airline official said.
According to the official from PIA in Muscat, ''The woman was provided all necessary assistance by cabin crew, including oxygen support.
''However, her condition failed to improve, and the aircraft had to make an emergency landing. The normal procedure in such situations is that an aircraft has to land at the nearest airport, which in this case was Muscat.''
He added that emergency services were alerted at Muscat International Airport, and a medical team arrived soon after the plane landed.
''However, the doctors said that the woman had already passed away and identified the cause as a heart attack.''
ROP personnel offloaded the body and the plane took off for Riyadh at 10.30am.
