US parks, momentums boost economy by USD1.15b


(MENAFN) According to a new study, national parks and monuments have boosted the economies of surrounding communities in the US by a combines USD1.15 billion, Gulf News reported.

Wyoming saw USD723.3 million in spending by visitors to parks and monuments run by the National Park Service, while Montana recorded USD397.3 million and Idaho, USD29.4 million.

The National Park Service report said spending on hotels and restaurants by visitors to US national parks in 2013 contributed by USD14.6 billion in economic benefits to communities within 96km of the parks nationwide.
