UAE's Etisalat profit up 26 percent in Q2

(MENAFN) UAE-based Etisalat reported a 26 percent growth in its profit in the second three months of the current year, as its majority stake in Maroc Telecom strengthened it, according to Arabian Business.

Etisalat made a net profit of USD680.7 million during the quarter compared to USD539 million in the year-ago period.

Etisalat, which beat the USD596 million analysts' forecast polled by Reuters, did not provide a quarterly net profit breakdown in its results statement.

The company's net profit for the first half boosted to USD1.22 million, up 19 percent from the same half a year earlier, the statement said.
