Kuwait- Mutlaa housing project (Design) costs KD 2 mln - PAHW

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) The Public Authority for Housing Welfare (PAHW) said on Sunday that it has concluded a contract with an international and local consultancy consortium to plan and design the roads and infrastructure of the Mutlaa project that includes 21,000 housing units, over a year, with total costs of KD 2 million.

Addressing a press conference, PAHW Director-General Bader Al-Waqayyan expected the Authority to deliver the first patch of the housing units in the project during the fiscal year 2015-2016 and the rest of the following year, in accordance with the short-term housing plan to solve the housing problem in Kuwait.

According to Al-Waqayyan, the Mutlaa housing project, located about 40 kilometres north of the Kuwait city, is the biggest the PAHW carries out, as it includes 21,000 units, to be built on a total area of 1,264 hectares.

The project will offer an ideal model for a modern city with integrated services and public utilities, where about 232,000 people are expected to live, Al-Waqayyan said, adding that the Authority intends to sign the first executive contract for the project in December 2015, once the planning and designing work is accomplished.
