Qatari Amir, Ban discuss hostilities in Gaza

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Qatari Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani held talks with visiting UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon Sunday on the Israeli aggression on Gaza Strip that killed at least 370 people and injured hundreds others.

Ban briefed Sheikh Tamim over the UN endeavors to establish a ceasefire in Gaza in order to prevent further loss of lives, the official Qatari News Agency (QNA) reported.

Sheikh Tamim, it added, underlined importance of the international action to stop the Israeli crimes against the Palestinians.

He also said the international community must live up to its "moral and legal" responsibilities to end the Israeli "unjust" siege on Gaza in order to allow the Palestinians live in dignity under international protection.

The international community's failure to end the Israeli systematic crimes against the Palestinians will have "catastrophic humanitarian consequences," warned the Qatari Amir.
