Kerry Lavrov Discuss Malaysian Plane Crash

(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Shington July 20 (QNA) - The United States are concerned with the inability of international experts to gain access to the Boeing 777 crash site in Ukraine's Donetsk region the US State Department press service said on Saturday after a telephone conversation held between US Secretary of State John Kerry and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

Commenting on the Lavrov-Kerry telephones conversation earlier on Saturday the Russian Foreign Ministry said that both foreign policy chiefs had agreed that it was necessary to carry out an absolutely impartial independent and open international investigation of the Malaysian airliner's crash in the Donetsk region which has been a scene of military hostilities between the local militias and Ukraine's government troops according to (Itar-Tass) news agency.

Both sides agreed that the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) should play the leading role in establishing the circumstances of the incident and that everybody who wants to establish the truth should take part in the investigation.

Kerry and Lavrov agreed that all material evidence including the 'black boxes' should be submitted for analysis as part of the international investigation while necessary access conditions should be created for the international team of experts on the ground.

More than 130 Malaysian experts arrived in Ukraine on July 19 to investigate the causes of the Boeing 777 plane crash but could not leave for the crash site immediately for unknown reasons. The Malaysian transport minister was also expected to arrive.
