Sharjah Government to Hire 50 New Communication Employees

(MENAFNEditorial) Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Chairman of Sharjah Media Centre (SMC), announced that in line with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, UAE Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, government communication departments at Sharjah government entities would begin their search for 50 new employees following the conclusion of the third and final phase of the government support programme implemented by SMC's Government Communication Unit (GCU).

This came during an Iftar banquet that was hosted by SMC in honour of senior officials and heads of media and communication departments at Sharjah government and representatives of the media across the UAE.

The Chairman of SMC also announced that GCU had launched several reference guides for the benefit of all government institutions in Sharjah.

The Iftar banquet saw the distribution of the first two reference guides, namely "Crisis Communications Process" and "Government Communications Guidelines & Processes", which will be followed by more guides to cover all categories related to the work mechanism of communication departments.

Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi said: "Out of our keenness to maintain excellent performance and equip government communication departments in Sharjah with enduring reference materials, we present you today with a number of government communication guides that provide all the necessary information for workers in the field and answer a lot of questions related to emergencies and crises to reduce their negative effects."

Osama Samra, Director of SMC, indicated that the guides were simplified in a manner that would allow easy understanding of communication terminology and tools. He noted that they were designed to limit the negative effects of emergencies and crises and to ensure the readiness of the GCU to implement its strategic communication plans effectively.

One of the guides, according to the Director of SMC, highlights the tools that the GCU has developed to support government communication professionals in Sharjah and help them do their jobs in the best way possible. It also explains the relationship between the GCU and government communication departments in the emirate to avoid any confusion or misunderstanding about the main role of the Unit.
