Egyptian, Saudi leaders tackle developments in region


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Egyptian President Abdelfatah Al-Sisi and Saudi King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud discussed in a telephone conversation Saturday the latest developments in region and international arenas.

The Saudi monarch praised the Egyptian role and efforts, despite internal issues, in the helping Arab people through its initiative to end violence in Gaza and stop the bloodshed of innocent Palestinians who are paying a high price amid military confrontations, presidential spokesman Ehab Badawi said in a statement.

According to the spokesman the Saudi King stressed importance that the international community bear its responsibility towards the aggression against the Palestinian people, including easing up restriction of humanitarian and food aid inside Gaza, praising Egypt's role in this regard.

For his part, President Al-Sisi affirmed that the Palestinian case was the most important in Egypt's foreign policy.

The Egyptian leader hailed the Saudi kingdom stances and support throughout the years to the Palestinian cause and to Arab causes in general.

President Al-Sisi also praised the kingdom support to Egypt in this critical stage.
