Peugeot's global sales up 5.5 percent in H1

(MENAFN) France's PSA Peugeot Citroen automobile announced posting sales increase of 5.5 percent worldwide in the first half of 2014 over a year earlier, Xinhua reported.

The surge was mainly driven by a strong demand in Europe and booming Chinese market, France's no. 1 automaker said.

In the January-June period of 2014, the group's sales hit 1.541 million vehicles globally, with its unit sales in Europe rising 11.7 percent to 956,000 vehicles.

China, PSA largest world market since March, was the group growth driver after accounting for 27.7 percent of its sales.
