Orders for Airbus A330neo jet rack up

(MENAFN) Airbus, European aircraft maker, racked up orders for its new long-haul A330neo jet, as demand is increasing for cheap long-haul air travel, The Peninsula Qatar reported.

After only two days of launching, Airbus has won commitments for 105 of its neo plans, surpassing its original target of 100 orders.

A330neo's lower fuel consumption, long-range capability and competitive price are all factors which will make it a true "game changer", Airbus Chief Executive said.

"I think this is going to be a remarkable plane," co-founder of low-cost airline AirAsia X said, which signed an outline deal for 50 of the planes worth USD13.75 billion.
