Chinese incomes up 10.8 percent in H1


(MENAFN) Official data showed that the average incomes of China's urban and rural residents continued to increase steadily in the January-June period of 2014, Xinhua reported.

According to the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), the average income rose 10.8 percent on year to USD1,629 in the first half, while the growth rate stood at 8.3 percent.

Meanwhile, the income gap between urban and rural residents narrowed, with actual income growth in rural China 2.7 percentage points higher than that in urban areas.
