Prince Mishaal honors Saudia for sponsoring Makkah Excellence Award
(MENAFN- Arab News) Makkah Gov. Prince Mishaal bin Abdullah has honored Saudi Arabian Airlines (Saudia) for sponsoring the Makkah Excellence Award project. He gave a memento to Walid Aloloumi adviser for media and production affairs at the airline's public relations department.
Saudia was honored during a ceremony held in Jeddah on July 12 when the governor declared winners of the award in its eight categories.
Education Minister Prince Khaled Al-Faisal was declared the winner of all the eight categories in appreciation of his efforts for the development of the Makkah region when he was the region's governor.
'Prince Khaled played a leading role in introducing several expansion and development projects when he was governor" Prince Mishaal said. He has played an outstanding role in advancing key developmental economic social scientific and cultural areas in the region he added
The press conference was attended by several Saudi businessmen major sponsors and supporters newspaper editors and media to highlight achievements made in the region over the years including milestones in the Haj and Umrah administrative economic cultural social environmental architectural scientific and technical domains.
Saudia is the official carrier of the award and its sponsorship comes in line with its social responsibility. Saudia also supports pioneering thoughts and ideas scientific initiatives and constructive projects. It also encourages positive competition to develop skills and enhance quality.
Since its formation 70 years ago Saudia has been sponsoring various cultural social and sports events in the Kingdom.
