8 new H1N1 cases this month no MERS case, says Oman

(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) The Ministry of Health (MoH) has said that eight new cases of H1N1 infections have been registered in the first half of July, but there have been no casualties.

A statement issued by MoH also said that no new MERS-CoV cases have been registered since December 2013.

MoH has urged Hajj and Umrah pilgrims to get the required immunisations and visit the nearest health centre if they experience symptoms like fever, cough or difficulty in breathing after their return.

It has asked the elderly, children, pregnant women and those with chronic ailments to avoid the pilgrimage this year. The ministry has advised tourists planning trips to Dhofar or abroad this Eid to follow hygiene practices and follow necessary preventive steps to avoid infection.
