North Korean Leader Oversees LiveShell Firing Exercise


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Ongyang July 15 (QNA) - North Korea said it conducted a live-fire drill on the front line in the East Sea under the supervision of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.

The North's official Korean Central News Agency said Tuesday that Kim oversaw the drill conducted by the 171st troop on the "351 Heroes Hill" at the eastern front line.

The drill was to check the country's readiness to "subdue enemies" infiltrating through the maritime military demarcation line and prepare the country for normal combat KCNA said.

On Monday the North fired around 100 artillery shells into the East Sea near the military demarcation line in Goseong Gangwon Province. (QNA)
