Japan's PM Hopes to Hold Summit Talks with China's President

(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Kyo July 14 (QNA) - Japan's Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said Monday he hopes to hold talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping on the sidelines of an APEC summit scheduled for November in Beijing to mend strained bilateral relations according to Japan's (Kyodo) News Agency.

"I hope to have a summit meeting during the APEC conference" Japan's Prime Minister said.

Since assuming the premiership for the second time in December 2012 Abe has been unable to hold official one-on-one talks with Xi as the two countries remain at odds over territory and perceptions of history. (QNA)
