Canon Enhances It Skills Of Uae Youth At Icdl Summer Camps


(MENAFNEditorial) Canon Middle East, a world leader in imaging solutions, is supporting the International Computer Driving License program (ICDL) Summer Camp for the fifth consecutive year to mark an ongoing commitment with the organisation to enhancing IT skills and social responsibility amongst youth in the UAE and across the region.

The ICDL Summer Camps is taking place from the 29th of June to the 28th of August at universities across the UAE are being supported or organised by the ICDL GCC Foundation to spread digital competency and cyber safety through recreational activities hosted by Canon and other partners. ICDL GCC Foundation works under the umbrella of ICDL Arabia, the governing body and the certification authority of the International Computer Driving License program in the GCC, Iraq and Egypt.

1,700 students ages 14 to 18 across all seven emirates of the UAE will have the opportunity to attend interactive workshops on topics related to Wi-Fi and connectivity showcased in Canon cameras and printers and photography booths will feature the technologically advanced Powershot N100. Participating universities include Abu Dhabi University, Higher Colleges of Technology CERT and UAE University in both Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, the National Academy for Research and Development in Dubai, camp locations in Sharjah and all northern emirates which will be operated by the National Institute for Vocational Education – KHDA.

At the Summer Camps high achieving students will have the opportunity to win cameras in recognition of their work and all participants will receive vouchers for use on Canon consumer products.
