S. Korean President's New Cabinet to Launch This Week

(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Oul July 14 (QNA) - South Korea's President Park Geun-hye has called for the public's support for the new lineup of Cabinet ministers saying they will begin work this week.

Speaking to her senior secretaries at a meeting on Monday Park said the new ministers must put all they have into reviving the livelihood of the people.

The president asked the Korean people and the political sector to support the new ministers saying now is critical time and time is running out according to Korea's (KBS WORLD) website.

Park ordered economy-related agencies to swiftly set the direction of economic policies for the second half of the year so Korean people can feel the effects of a recovering economy.

She specifically called on her economy-related officials to gather around the Deputy Prime Minister for Economy to create jobs and vowed to soon open a meeting on regulatory reform. She said she will review progress made in that field and stressed regulatory reform is an urgent task directly related to investment and job creation.

However Park did not mention whether she plans to appoint or withdraw nominations for Kim Myung-soo as education minister and Chung Sung-keun for culture minister. Confirmation hearing reports on Kim and Chung have yet to be adopted. (QNA)
