Arab parliaments to meet on Israeli attacks on Gaza


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) The Arab League will host an emergency meeting of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union next Thursday, headed by Chairman of the Union and Kuwait's National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanim to discuss the recent Israeli attacks on Palestine.

The meeting was called for by the Palestinian Parliament to discuss the savage Israeli raids on Palestinians in Gaza, the West Bank and Jerusalem, Secretary of the Palestinian National Council Ambassador Mohammad Sabeeh said Sunday.

General Secretary of the Arab League Nabil Al-Araby, Chairman of the Palestinian National Council Salim Al-Zanon and Al-Ghanim will be speaking at the opening session of the meeting, said Sabeeh.

Al-Zanon will present a detailed report regarding the situation in Palestine and measures to be taken against Israel, to Heads of Arab parliaments participating in the meeting, Sabeeh added.

The meeting will also discuss the role of Arab parliaments in communicating with international parliaments, mainly the US Congress and the European Parliament, to demand they interfere to end the Israeli violence against Palestinians, he stated.

Moreover, the participants will discuss taking measures to stop the attacks and bring those responsible to justice, while also calling on all Arab states to provide Palestinians with urgent humanitarian aid.
