Egypt condemns terrorist bombing in Algeria


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Egypt's Foreign Ministry condemned vehemently on Sunday a hand-made bomb blast in commune of Sidi Chaib, Sidi Bel-Abbes, 440km west of Algiers, which left three soldiers and four communal guards dead Saturday, a senior official said.

Egypt expresses solidarity with Algeria to encounter these terrorist acts that seek to destabilize the state, Ministry spokesman Badr Abdel-Ati said in a statement issued here on Sunday.

He reiterated that Algerian authorities are able to combat and eliminate the terrorist groups.

Terrorism is an international phenomenon that targets stability and development in all states all over the world, the spokesman pointed out.

Soon after the blast, the Army launched a cordon and search operation in the area, the Ministry of National Defense said, affirming that "this criminal act has only reinforced the Army determination to demolish the terrorist groups and clear the country of their heinous acts.
