(MENAFN) Infosys, India's outsourcing giant, posted a better-than-expected jump in its quarterly net profit of 21 percent as it won new deals from US clients, The Peninsula Qatar reported.

The firm said that total net profit jumped to USD481 million in the second quarter of 2014, from USD395.2 million registered in the same period a year earlier.

Infosys, India's second largest IT services exporter by sales, forecasts revenues would climb to 7-9 percent for the financial year that began in April.

"Growth is our top most priority. In fact, we can do much better than we have this past quarter," Infosys CEO said.
