Spain's inflation dips to zero in June

(MENAFN) Official data showed that Spain's inflation has fell to zero in June, as the eurozon battle to fend off the threat of a damaging deflationary spiral, The Peninsula Qatar reported.

The National Statistics Institute said that consumer prices in the eurozone's fourth largest economy were unchanged from a year ago in June, covered by declining food, soft drink and electricity prices.

The inflation report reflects weak domestic demand in Spain, still struggling with a 26-percent jobless rate even as the economy slowly expands after emerging cautiously in mid-2013 from a double-dip slump.
