Russia's Putin Arrives in Argentina


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Enos Aires July 12 (QNA) - Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in Argentina on Saturday for the third stop in his visit to Latin America.



He is slated to meet with Argentine President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner to sign bilateral agreements the Russian news agency Itar Tass reported.

Putin arrived after a brief stop in Nicaragua as he flew from meetings in Cuba. He landed in the Nicaraguan capital of Managua late Friday and met with President Daniel Ortega and army head Julio Cesar Aviles.



During his first stop in Cuba Putin met with President Raul Castro and former leader Fidel Castro. The meeting was preceded by the Kremlin's forgiveness of 90 per cent of debt previously owed by Cuba to Russia. Castro also praised Russia's role in the Ukraine crisis.



On Sunday Putin is scheduled to fly to Brazil for the World Cup final. Russia will host the next World Cup in 2018.

At the end of his stay he is to take part in a gathering of the emerging economic alliance BRICS (Brazil Russia India China and South Africa) on July 15 and 16 in the Brazilian inland capital Brasilia and in Fortaleza on the Atlantic Ocean.(QNA)
