(MENAFN - Arab News) 'Several parties" have been putting obstacles in the way of employing women in the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice (Haia) a senior official said in statement to the local media.

Haia chief Abdullatif Al-Asheikh said that Haia is yet to be given the green light to create job vacancies for Saudi women adding that once they are instructed to appoint women in the commission they will announce them to the public.

In a meeting with Haia staff in Madinah earlier this week Al-Asheikh noted that Haia does not have any accounts on the social media adding that the commission makes its announcements through its website and its spokesperson.

The Haia chief warned people of misguided preachers who have manipulated the minds of the country's youth adding: 'The sedition and assaults this country is witnessing is only aimed at harming our country and our religion. This is a very serious issue and we should be aware of this danger and act to what please Allah to defend the religion our families and the country."

'We have to protect our youth to please Allah through the defense of the religion and the homeland. We must unite against all those who have deviant thoughts and do what pleases Allah the Al Almighty and seek guidance for the misguided" he said.
