33 Militants Killed in Afghan Army Operations


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Bul July 10 (QNA) - At least 33 Taliban militants were killed following military operations by Afghan national army soldiers in the past 24 hours defense officials said Thursday.



Gen. Zahir Azimi spokesman for the ministry of defense of Afghanistan said at least 20 militants were also injure during the operations.

Gen. Azimi further added that five militants were arrested and various types of weapons and ammunition were confiscated according to the Afghan (Khaama Press).



He said Afghan national army soldiers also discovered and seized 71 improvised explosive devices (EIDs) during the operations.

In the meantime Azimi said at least three Afghan national army soldiers were also martyred in the past 24 hours.



No further details were disclosed regarding the exact locations where the three Afghan national army soldiers were martyred.

The anti-government armed militant groups have not commented regarding the report so far. (QNA)
