Vietnam attracts more foreign retailers in 2014


(MENAFN) Vietnam is becoming an attractive destination for foreign retailers, as a number of big names started to launch their businesses in the country, Xinhua reported.

In the first half of 2014, Vietnam witnessed the introduction of many retailers, including Singapore's Mapletree, Thailand's Robins Department Store, South Korean Caffe Bene, Japan's AEON retail group and many others.

According to a report by America-based real estate CBRE Group, Vietnam's retail market ranked second among the top ten attractive retail markets in Asia in 2014.

Total retail sales of goods and service in the first half of 2014 stood at nearly USD68.2 billion, up 10.7 percent on-year, according to Vietnam's General Statistics Office.
