(MENAFN - Muscat Daily) Painting is something that comes naturally to children. And helping them bring out their inner creativity and imagination through colours is Berger Paints, one of the co-sponsors of Kid-Citement, a unique role play-based edutainment event being organised at Markaz al Bahja until August 6.
A first-of-its-kind initiative in Oman, Kid-Citement enables children to pick up new skills and professions' normally associated with grown-ups. At the venue, children will perform tasks that teach them creativity, teamwork and responsibility “ all in a highly realistic and safe environment supervised by trained adults. Aimed at children aged 3-14 years, Kid-Citement will be open at the mall daily (including the Eid holidays) from 7.30pm to 11.30pm. Berger Paints is sponsoring the painting role-play activity at Kid-Citement, as part of which it has set up a new 2.5x1.5m wall that will be changed daily. Children can paint on the wall with their favourite colours, using different shades and combinations to create bright and aesthetically beautiful patterns. While younger children will be given stencils, older ones will be guided by Berger representatives and qualified painters. The activity will help kids learn about different kinds of paints, the nuances of the painting profession and how painters routinely transform blank living spaces into breath-taking works of art. In addition, the company has set up a special cabin to display the popular glow-in-the-dark themes for walls and ceilings from Berger Paints' exclusive kids' range. As a reminder of the great time the children had at the venue, there will be a photo prop set up by Berger Paints, through which children can stick their head to get their photographs taken. Each child will also take back a brochure kit that the family can view at leisure and be inspired to transform their home. What's more, every week, one winner will be picked for a complimentary room makeover from those who register at the Berger Paints counter. As the sultanate's leading provider of solutions for architectural coatings, wood finishes and industrial coatings, Berger Paints Oman is using the role-play activity to engage with children and give them a first-hand feel of painting by participating in the process. P K Raj, general manager, Berger Paints Oman, said, ''Kids understand best when they get the chance to get directly involved in something and have fun doing it. Learning by doing' is recognised as a powerful educational technique. And since painting is something children naturally love, we decided to organise this activity where they can learn how to paint like professionals. Basically, we believe that anyone can create magic with a blank canvas, colours and paint, and some expert guidance. I am positive the kids will enjoy themselves “ and so will we, for I am sure there is a lot we can learn from them as we
