(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Oman Air has appointed Abdulrahaman al Busaidy to the position of chief operating officer (COO). The airline's commercial, network planning, and strategy and business development divisions will report to Busaidy, who took up his post on July 1.
Busaidy has in earlier roles worked with Gulf Air as executive vice president - marketing, Oman Air as chief executive officer, and Jet Airways as chief strategy and planning officer.
Busaidy's appointment comes at a critical time for Oman Air, as it prepares for its next phase of rapid expansion, which will begin with the arrival later this year of the first of 20 new aircraft that the airline currently has on order, a press release said on Wednesday.
Welcoming Busaidy's appointment, acting chief ÂexeÂcÂutive officer of Oman Air, Salim al Kindy, said, ''We are delighted to welcome AbdulÂrahaman al Busaidy to the newly-created post of chief Âoperating officer, where his Âformidable skills and extensive experience will be crucial in helping to guide Oman Air through its next phase of Âdevelopment.''
