Aster DM Healthcare offers job to rescued Indian nurses


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Dr Azad Moopen chairman of Aster DM Healthcare in Dubai has offered cash assistance of Rs25000 to each of the 46 nurses to meet their immediate requirement.

The Indian nurses rescued from the war-torn Iraq after a month-long ordeal have been offered immediate monetary assistance and jobs by a UAE-based entrepreneur-cum-philanthropist.

Dr Azad Moopen chairman of Aster DM Healthcare in Dubai has offered cash assistance of Rs25000 to each one of the 46 nurses to meet their immediate requirements. Dr Moopen who is also a director of the Kerala government’s department for Non-Resident Keralites’ Affairs (Norka) has also offered job opportunities to those who are interested in various establishments in India and abroad.

Dr Moopen is the second UAE-based Indian to offer jobs to the nurses. Dr B.R. Shetty chairman and MD of Abu Dhabi-based NMC Group has also offered jobs for them.

Sympathising in the plight of the unfortunate nurses from Kerala his native land Dr Moopen said in a Press statement issued on Sunday: “We will recruit these repatriated and devastated nurses on priority at Aster Medcity Kochi MIMS Hospitals at Calicut and Kottakkal and DM WIMS Medical College Hospital in Wayanad. For those interested to return to the Middle East we will accommodate them in our hospitals and clinics in the UAE Oman Qatar and Saudi Arabia if they fulfill official requirements.”

Aster DM Healthcare employs about 4500 people in India and 5000 abroad including 1500 nursing staff in across more than 170 establishments under the network. For registration of the job offered and collection of the immediate financial assistance a counter has been opened at Aster Medcity in Cheranallur Kochin.

To avail the job opportunity the nurses have been asked to contact Gracy Mathai Head of QAD at the facility on 0091-9847400897 and visit the Aster Medcity with certificates and identity documents within a week.

Dr Moopen also lauded the efforts of the government of India and the Kerala state government for bringing back the nurses and hundreds of workers safely from Iraq. He especially appreciated the efforts of the Kerala Chief Minister Oomen Chandy who acted very promptly to address the issues and Sushma Swaraj Union Minister of External Affairs for providing the necessary support.
