(MENAFN) according to a survey released by the Australian Industry Group, ongoing improvements in the house building sector helped lift the national construction sector into growth for the first time this year, Xinhua reported.
The Australian Performance of Construction Index rose 5.1 points to 51.8 in June, with readings above 50 indicating an expansion in activity.
"The housing sub-sector went from strength to strength, marking a tenth straight month of expansion with an accelerated pace of increase in June," director of public policy of Australian Industry Group said.
