Russian Moroccan Foreign Ministers to Meet in Moscow


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Scow july 03 (qna) - the russian and moroccan foreign ministers sergey lavrov and salaheddine mezouar will meet on thursday in moscow to discuss bilateral ties and a political dialogue of the two countries.

"we consider talks of the foreign ministers as a confirmation of a mutual bid to maintain close cooperation for a further strengthening of friendship and mutually advantageous cooperation" russian foreign ministry sources said.

they expressed confidence that "a visit of salaheddine mezouar will give an additional impetus to the development of bilateral cooperation of partnership and a trust-based political dialogue with morocco." the ministers will exchange opinions on the situation in the middle east and in north africa in particular in syria iraq and will discuss the middle east and western sahara settlement the sahara sahel zone and other issues of mutual interest according to russia's (itar-tass) news agency.

the russian foreign ministry expressed satisfaction with the level of reached in ties with morocco. "for a number of years this country has been among the three leading trade partners of russia in africa" ministry sources said.

they said cooperation with morocco is coordinated by the intergovernmental joint commission for economic trade-scientific cooperation co-chaired by the moroccan foreign minister. a next session of the commission is due in morocco this year. (qna)
