Germany passenger car production up 6 percent in H1


(MENAFN) Data from German industry association showed that passenger car production in the country increased 6 percent on-year in the January-June period of 2014, Xinhua reported



In the first half of 2014, 2.9 million cars were produced in Germany, as the growing markets in China and the US supported the increase, the German Association of Automotive Industry (VDA) said



According to VDA, passenger car sales in China rose 15 percent to 7.4 million units, while until June, 8.1 million new light vehicles were sold in the US, up 4 percent over a year



"The major markets of the U.S. and China are on a growth path, even Western Europe turns back into positive territory," said VDA President in a press conference
