All Gujarat Cong MLAs suspended for ruckus over water problem

Speaker vaju vala cracked the whip after the lawmakers demanding a discussion on the grim water situation in the state rushed to the well of the 182-member house kept on shouting slogans and even hurled the question-answer booklets given to them.Leader of opposition in the house shankarsinh vaghela earlier raised the demand for a discussion on the drought-like situation due to delayed monsoons after his application moved earlier in the day for the same was rejected by the speaker.“a grim situation has developed in the state due to delay in rains. the government which knows about it has not made any provision in the budget presented yesterday. we would like to have discussion on the issue” he told the house.Vala however said since the application on the subject was rejected no discussion could take place on the issue now. his statement instantly sparked a furore.Only vaghela and his predecessor shaktisinh gohil were not suspended as they were in their seats but the duo later walked out of the house in protest against the action of the speaker.Finance minister saurabh patel had presented the 2014-15 budget on the opening day of the month-long assembly session on tuesday.Reacting to the budget vaghela a former cm and federal minister had said that it would lead to increase in prices and bring “bad days” for the people of gujarat.Using the bjp’s lok sabha poll campaign slogan he said: “acche din aane wale hain (good days are ahead) but these are bad days and the days of price rise for the people of gujarat”.“the people suffering from rising prices had some hope that this bjp-led government will control inflation but after this budget all hopes have vanished” he said in his statement.He also said that the people of gujarat should have benefitted due to increased revenue income but instead of that stamp duty charges have been hiked on private and public transportation services as well as construction services.Maheshkhaleejtimes.com
