(MENAFN - Muscat Daily) The MSM30 continued its positive streak for a sixth consecutive day to close at 7,024.770, up by 0.06 per cent, backed by the financial and services sector.
The market registered positive breadth, as 18 companies closed in the green, while only eight declined, out of the 44 securities traded on the market.
Omantel led the market in terms of value traded at RO1.3mn, followed by Al Batinah Power and Al Suwadi Power, which continued to attract investor interest and constituted 28 per cent of the total value traded on the market at the end of the day.
The Financial index and the Services index rose by 0.53 per cent and 0.12 per cent, respectively, but the Industrial index closed flat on a daily basis. The MSM Shariah Index closed at 1,053.88, up by 0.07 per cent.
Among the top gainers were Al Madina Takaful (6.78%), Oman Fisheries (3.41%) and Al Batinah Dev Inv Holding (2.96%). The losers included National Aluminium Products (-1.51%), Bank Muscat (-1.17%) and Gulf International Chemicals (-0.83%).
