the rockets presumed to be 300-millimeter multiple-rocket launcher kn-09 shells were fired from a site near its eastern city of wonsan in a northeastern direction according to the jcs.
"they flew some 180 kilometers and seem to have landed in the north's territorial waters not in international waters" a jcs officer said.
"it is yet to be confirmed if the north made a pre-announcement for civilian flights or vessels. we've just detected them with our military's surveillance equipment" he added.
