The award seeks to recognise environmentally sustainable and transparent businesses contributing towards development and social progress. the ‘she toilets’ developed by city-based eram scientific solutions meet the need for clean and hygienic public amenities in cities and crowded places.The company promoted by saudi-headquartered businessman siddeek ahmed had last year bagged the skoch awards 2013 for developing women friendly toilets. it also received the ‘order of merit’ from among top 100 innovations from all sectors across the country.The automatic and unmanned toilets are designed to cater to all the sanitation needs of the women. they are equipped with stations for changing baby diapers sanitary napkin vending machines and incinerators along with self-washing and sterilisation functions.The remote-controlled toilets have common facilities such as automatic collection of payment; automatic door opening ‘busy’ and ‘free’ display boards and an automatic platform cleaning system. it has also provision to send sms alerts to the control room in case of emergencies such as exhaustion of water tank or filling-up of the septic tank.
