UAE- New programmes for healthcare students


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) The gulf medical university (gmu) has announced four new graduate programmes to develop health professionals who can work in multi-disciplinary healthcare settings

It has also launched a twinning mbbs programme with a malaysian university.Thumbay moideen gmu founder president and chairman said the twinning has been approved by the ministry of higher education and scientific research uae and the malaysian medical council.The programme will provide students pre-clinical education at the gmu campus in ajman for the first two years to be followed by three years’ clinical training at mahsa university kuala lumpur.The two-year pre-clinical education will lead to an associate degree in pre-clinical sciences and upon successfully completing the five-year programme students will get an mbbs degree from mahsa university. annually 50 students will be admitted.The new four programmes are health sciences in medical laboratory sciences medical imaging sciences anesthesia and surgical technology and nursing sciences. they have all received initial accreditation from the ministry of higher education and scientific research the uae. each programme will admit 10 students annually.Ahmedshaabankhaleejtimes.com
