BlackBerry Z3 coming to Mideast

The uae and saudi arabia will be the first in the region to experience the new device next month with qatar bahrain and kuwait following later in the summer. it will be retailed for dh899; customers who purchase one in july will be given an exclusive app offer in which they can download a selection of premium apps worth dh200.The blackberry z3 was originally announced during february’s mobile world congress in barcelona. in a press statement from that event blackberry executive chairman and chief executive officer john chen said that the z3 is the first smartphone “to emerge from our strategic partnership with foxconn”. the device was first released in jakarta on may 13.“the blackberry z3 embodies all that [the] blackberry 10 [operating system] offers” he added.Blackberry’s new handset has a five-inch touchscreen and runs on blackberry 10 os version 10.2.1. it is also compatible with applications from google’s android platform; android apps may be directly downloaded from the internet through the blackberry browser but not all apps are supported and may vary by smartphone and/or source.The blackberry z3’s key features include the popular blackberry hub blackberry messenger blackberry keyboard time shift and story maker blackberry 10 browser instant previews and reply now among many others.— alvin?khaleejtimes.com
