With the arrest of eight pakistanis the sharjah police have busted a gang of thieves who robbed warehouses which stored electrical and copper cables. subsequent investigations revealed that some of the suspects are staying in the country illegally while the others were wanted by different security agencies in the country.After receiving complaints from various warehouses storing copper cables the police observed a common modus operandi in all the thefts: the security guard was first attacked and tied-up before the thefts were committed.The criminal investigation department (cid) of the sharjah police launched a probe and managed to arrest the suspects.During interrogation the suspects confessed to the crime and said they sold the stolen cables to scrap companies.The sharjah police have urged warehouse owners to beef up security and install cctv cameras on the premises.Afkarali?khaleejtimes.com
