GM recalls 8.4m vehicles over ignition defect


(MENAFN) General Motors (GM) announced recalling 8.4 million more vehicles, mainly over potential ignition key problems, bringing the total number of recalled units in 2014 to 25.7 million, Xinhua reporte



GM said they were aware of seven crashes, eight injuries and three fatalities related to this latest round of recalls



The fatal crashes occurred in older model Chevrolet Impalas which the company is recalling for inadvertent ignition key rotatio



"We undertook what I believe is the most comprehensive safety review in the history of our company because nothing is more important than the safety of our customers," GM CEO said
