Ahmad Abu Khatallah, who was captured earlier this month, currently faces criminal charges on three counts. In July 2013, Abu Khatallah was charged in a sealed criminal complaint in the District of Columbia for his alleged role in the attacks that resulted in the murders of four citizens in Benghaz



The complaint, which was filed under seal on July 15, 2013, in the United States District Court for the District of Columbia, charges Abu Khatallah with "Killing a person in the course of an attack on a federal facility involving the use of a firearm and dangerous weapon and attempting and conspiring to do the same, Providing, attempting and conspiring to provide material support to terrorists resulting in death and Discharging, brandishing, using, carrying and possession of a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence.
