S. Korea's current account surplus hits USD9.3b in May


(MENAFN) Central bank data showed that South Korea posted a current account surplus for the 27th consecutive month, led by solid exports amid economic recovery, Xinhua reporte



The country's current account surplus reached USD9.3 billion in May, up 30.6 percent from the previous month, according to the Bank of Korea (BOK



Exports, which account for around half of the economy, reached USD52.61 billion in May, down 7.2 percent from a month earlie



The fall was mainly attributed to less business days caused by the so-called golden week from the May 1 Labor Day to the May 6 Buddha's Birthday
