(MENAFN - Muscat Daily) Oman's Syed Amir Ali and Munis Ansari were among four players who were reprimanded for separate Level 1 breaches of the ICC code of conduct for players in the ICC World Cricket League (WCL) Division 4 meet in Singapore on Tuesday.
The players admitted the offences and accepted the sanctions proposed by match referee Steve Bernard. As such, there was no need for formal hearings. The other two players were Denmark skipper Michael Pedersen and his teammate Amjad Khan.
Ali and Ansari were both found to have breached article 2.1.3 of the code, which relates to 'showing dissent at an umpire's decision during an international match'.
The charge against allrounder Ali relates to an incident in the 26th over of Oman's innings against Denmark when he delayed leaving the ground after being given out while the charge against Ansari relates to an incident in the second over of Denmark's innings when the fast bowler spoke to the umpire in an 'aggressive manner' after a leg-before appeal was turned down.
