Bahrain's FDI up 11 percent in 2013


(MENAFN) Foreign direct investment in Bahrain was estimated at USD989 million in 2013, up 11 percent from 2012, according to Gulf Daily News. FDI into Bahrain reached USD891 million in 2012, up 14 percent from 2011, according to The United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) World Investment Report 2014. Experts said if a similar growth trend were to continue this year, the inflows would cross the USD1 billion mark. The report was unveiled at an event at the Kempinski Grand Hotel hosted by the Econonomic Development Board (EDB) and Bahrain-based MENA Centre for Investment, which supports the work of the MENA-OECD Investment Programme.
