(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Oman Arab Bank recently organised a training seminar on ‘Financial analysis for the purposes of credit' in cooperation with the Jordan-based Arab Bank. The seminar was led by Dr Ahmed Abdel Halim, manager of corporate credit for east Mediterranean at Arab Bank.
The course was held from June 8-11 and was attended by 24 employees of the Department of Facilities and Microfinance, as well as relevant officers of OAB branches in order to enhance their knowledge and skills relating to assets, credit and financial assessment to serve and enhance their competence to perform the role assigned to them in studying customer situations and making appropriate credit decisions.
This seminar focused on the analysis of the statement of financial position and income statement items, knowledge of the most important financial analysis methodologies used, and how to read and interpret financial statements and how to identify strengths and weaknesses in the financial condition of companies to enable the bank to estimate their finance needs and to make appropriate credit decisions, to provide OAB staff with necessary knowledge and skills and to enhance their leadership roles in the future.
