UAE's railway network to be completed soon


(MENAFN) The 200-kilometre first phase of the UAE-wide federal railway network is scheduled to be completed in the near future to link Shah area with Ruwais area in Western Region, according to the Emirates 24/7. The first phase of the project will be followed by two other phases to be completed by the end of 2018. Nazim Assad bin Taher, Director, Roads and Transport Department, National Transport Authority, said that the entire 1200-kilometre double-track network, handling both freight and passenger services will link UAE to Oman and Saudi Arabia. Local government departments said: "Preparing the said Federal law is in implementation of a relevant resolution by the Ministerial Council For Services."
