Abu Dhabi Police launch safety drive for Ramadan


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Police patrols will distribute iftar packets to motorists to help reduce accidents as part of the campaign.

the abu dhabi police have launched a social campaign under the slogan “your safety”.

the campaign which includes several awareness initiatives will continue through the vacation time till eid al fitr. being organised in cooperation with the security media department in the general secretariat of the office of the deputy prime minister and minister of interior it comes as a part of the preparations for the holy month of ramadan.

major-general mohammed bin al awadhi al menhali director-general of police operations of the abu dhabi police said “this is part of our continuous awareness campaign to prepare for ramadan and the holidays as we spare no effort in securing the comfort and safety of people.

“on the ground police patrols will carry out a humanitarian initiative in the spirit of ramadan as they will distribute iftar meals to motorists across the emirate before the iftar time. this initiative falls under a month-long programme organised by the abu dhabi police in cooperation with charities and humanitarian institutions to enhance relations between the police and the community and reduce traffic accidents.”

lt-colonel saeed al khajah deputy head of the security media department said “the campaign includes humanitarian and spiritual programmes and activities involving different service departments of the ministry of interior. the campaign will continue throughout ramadan and eid al fitr.

“the police campaigns and initiatives efficiently raise public awareness regarding safety measures.”
